Fuzzy Thurston is an American singer/songwriter rooted in the music stylings of country, folk, and rock 'n roll. Since 2019, Fuzzy has produced several releases with his band, Fuzzy & The Rustbelts. His singles, That Sweet Song (2019) and Perfect (2021) both garnered a significant amount of local, national, and international attention from various media outlets. Fuzzy was the winner of the 2019 106.5 WYRK Taste of Country Riser Competition, and was voted 2020, 2021, and 2022 Best Country Act at the All WNY Music Awards. Over the years Fuzzy has shared stages and festivals with national touring artists including Mitchell Tenpenny, Maddie & Tae, Rodney Atkins, Gary LeVox (Rascal Flats), Miranda Lambert, Alison Krauss, Bonnie Raitt, and Willie Nelson.
Recently, Fuzzy has released his 2023 debut EP titled, Stories & Ballads. It consists of five acoustic songs written over the past several years to include additional tracks detailing the origins of each individual song. "I really wanted the lyrics to do the talking on this record," Fuzzy says, taking cues and tips from the likes of Isbell, Springsteen, and Moreland. Fuzzy has created a moody EP that personalizes the listening experience. Throughout the EP, he focuses on topics revolving around personal freedom, faith, death, and mental illness. In a recent interview, Fuzzy discussed the importance of being honest with his audience. Something he admittedly has struggled with in the past. "I've found that listeners want to dig in. They wanna get to know the folks they enjoy listening to," Fuzzy exclaims. This record accomplishes the goals he has set out to achieve and has rewarded Fuzzy with a sense of satisfaction that will propel him toward future projects. With a new full length record already on the horizon, Fuzzy is determined more than ever to continue performing and creating music at a high level.
